Detailed History
In January 1977 & May 1978 PTT98R & VOD595S were new to Western National and entered service as their number's [1098] & [575] respectively.

In January 1983 PTT98R & VOD595S passed to Devon General operating as their number's [1098] & [575] respectively.

By July 1987 PTT98R & VOD595S had been sold to Green of Weymouth (dealer).

In September 1987 PTT98R & VOD595S were acquired by Southern Vectis and entered service in (un-repainted) NBC Leaf Green & White livery as fleet number's [509] & [510] respectively.

Between September 1987 and January 1988 PTT98R [509] & VOD595S [510] went on loan to Solent Blue Line operating as their number's [98] & [95] respectively.

In February 1988 PTT98R [509] & VOD595S [510] were repainted into deregulation Emerald Green & Cream livery.

In October 1992 PTT98R [509] & VOD595S [510] were withdrawn from service.

Subsequent History

PTT98R [509]:

  • In October 1992 it was transferred to Solent Blue Line operating as their number [98]. [per Dave Shaw]
  • In September 1997 it was sold to Johnson Brothers of Hodthorpe. [per Dave Shaw]

VOD595S [510]:

  • In October 1992 it was transferred to Solent Blue Line operating as their number [95]. [per Dave Shaw]
  • In August 1995 it was sold to North of Sherburn (dealer). [per Dave Shaw]
  • It may have subsequently been exported to the USA.

In the same month in which it was acquired by Southern Vectis PTT98R went on loan to Solent Blue Line as their [98] for a few months. Still in NBC Leaf Green & White livery with Solent Blue Line fleetnames a nearside-front view at Hanover Buildings, Southampton, during October 1987.
